The Dr. Olusegun Asekun Resource Centre serves as a repository for academic resources, event information, and a vibrant legal community centred at the Faculty of Law, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.
At its heart is the annual Olu Asekun National Moot Court Competition — bringing together law students from across all six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.

2023 — Foundation
Olu Asekun Law Resource Center dedicated
On 21st June 2023, Dr. Asekun dedicated the world-class building at OOU, housing two moot court rooms and expressing his vision for an annual national competition.

2024 — Maiden Edition (OANMCC/1.0)
First national competition — 8 faculties, South West
Held 13th–14th June 2024, eight law faculties across the South West competed in a hugely successful inaugural event.
Winner: Lagos State University · 1st Runner-up: OOU

2025 — Second Edition (OANMCC/2.0)
Expanded to all six geopolitical zones — 21 faculties
With 21 applications from across Nigeria, the 2025 edition expanded to a truly national scale. 14 memorials received covering immigration law hypotheticals.

About us
The Olu Asekun National Moot Court Competition
Founder's profile
Dr. Olusegun Asekun
Dr. Olu Asekun is an alumnus of the Faculty of Law, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria. As a committed alumnus, he single-handedly donated a world-class building housing two fully equipped moot court rooms complete with judges' chambers and offices.
He started his legal career in 1994, co-founding Ogunbanwo, Asekun, Okusanya & Co. in Lagos. In 2002, he relocated to the United States, passed the New York Bar Exam at first attempt within three months, and founded The Law Office of Olu Asekun, PC in Arlington, Texas.
He subsequently obtained a Doctorate Degree in Transformational Leadership and is a renowned legal luminary and philanthropist dedicated to promoting legal excellence.
